Plants experiment freebie

Before starting our plants unit we did a fun experiment.
We planted 6 plants in different conditions and observed them during a week.
We had a worksheet to register all the data. You can get it FREE to use it with your students.

And don't forget making our plants foldable (What do plants need) when you finish this experiment with your students. It is a good review to learn what do plants need.
Two different plants foldables for your classroom for $1.00.Click on the flower picture!

What do plants need?

We just saw our experiments results! We planted different plants with different conditions to see which one grew faster.

After seeing the results we planted our plants with the best conditions and these are the results:

They look good!

When we learnt what plants needed we created a fun fold and learn activity.

I just added this to a linky party: visit http://theteachingbank.blogspot.com.es/
for other many science great ideas!

Plants unit

We started our plants unit!
Everything started last week with a fun experiment to learn: What do plants need? I'll post about it as soon as we get the results.
Today we learned about parts of the plant. We made a fold and learn activity so they could take it home. They really love taking everything home...

I decided to translate it to English too and sell it on TPT so everyone could use it.

Spring Fast Finishers

Tests just arrived to my classroom, just like spring.
They all start at the same time, but this year I have more fast-finishers than ever! Some of them have to wait for 20 minutes.

What do I do now???

I find it very difficult finding engaging activities for my first graders to do while waiting for the rest of the classroom to finish their tests.
This is my last TPT creation:

They are fun enough to keep them engaged, but review some reading or math.

And the best of all, they don't need help to do them. I just explain them all at the beginning and they can choose the one they like when their finish their test.

Sharing my first online resources

Some of the things I wanted to share on my blog are online free resources to use on our smartboards or just to be added to our classroom blogs so our students can play at home.
This is: MI MUNDO EN PALABRAS.
Includes themed activities about family, park, school, PE, zoo... and so on. Your students will love it and it is a good way to improve their Spanish listening skills.

Have fun!

Farm unit

I wanted to celebrate my new blog, so here comes my first blog freebie.

There are many other freebies on my Teachers pay Teachers store, but this is NEW.
I created these Farm centers cards that you can print and use in your classroom.
It also includes vocabulary cut outs that that the students will use to create a farm scene that they can describe.

Permission to pin

After reading this Corkboard Connections post I decided that you have my permission to pin but please link back to this blog.

I also have a Pinterest account that you can follow:

Meet the teacher

I have been a blogger follower for a while and I know it is difficult finding Spanish materials for your k-2 classrooms. So I finally decided to create my own blog where I could share online resources, classroom tips and   some of my own classroom resources.

I teach first grade in Spain. I currently teach in a bilingual public school with students from all over the world. This is my 8th year teaching and I've taught K to 6th grade.

I have been working with a publisher house creating textbooks and students materials in Spain.
I love creating my own teaching resources and my own clipart.

When  I am not teaching I love travelling, reading and making crafts.

I hope you join me in this adventure!

Lita
